Lunches

School Lunches from September 2024

When we return to school in September our school lunches will be provided by the catering team of Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership (MNSP).   Meals will still be cooked at the kitchens at Oakfield Academy.

The catering service will be overseen by the Trust’s Catering Department which is led by Head of Catering, Gary Monger.  Gary who lives in Frome and whose children were educated at Trinity School is pleased to have the opportunity of providing us with school meals.  He says “school meals have changed a lot in recent years.  Working in partnership with the school, the team will ensure that children have healthy, nutritious and responsibly-sourced meals with a variety that will appeal to our young people and will help develop healthy habits that will stand them in good stead for the future.  We also use local suppliers wherever we can.”

The trust provides in excess of 10,000 meals per day across more than 37 schools.  The commitment to high standards means that all kitchens have 5 star ratings from Environmental Health.

Parents can be assured that steps are taken to ensure that any child with medical allergies can safely enjoy school meals with their friends.

Please see the new menus for September.   The new menus will go live on ParentPay Monday 29th July.   Lunches will still be ordered through ParentPay with a new deadline of midnight Thursday of the week prior to taking them.   You can order as far in advance as is available on the system.   If the deadline is missed, a packed lunch from home will have to be provided as to reduce waste no spare meals will be available.

All children in reception, years 1 and 2 will still receive a Universal Infant Free School Meal (UIFSM).  If your child is moving up to year 3, meals will now have to be paid for in advance.   The cost of a KS2 meal is £2.80 per day.
